Frankie, a five-week-old Pit Bull puppy, faced his first taste of rejection when his family abandoned him. Left alone in a Pampers diaper box on a property in Buffalo, New York, he peered out with eyes full of longing, searching for someone to save him.
His silent plea was answered by Robin, a kind-hearted local business owner who found the small pup outside her store.
Rescued just in time
Without a second thought, she picked up the fragile little one, offering him the comfort and safety he desperately needed. In Robin’s arms, Frankie felt a warmth he hadn’t known before, sensing that he was finally safe.
Robin, a devoted supporter of West Side Cat Rescue, immediately contacted the shelter for help.
Jamie Mulligan, the founder of West Side Cat Rescue, responded to the call.
Jamie sensed that whoever had left Frankie outside Robin’s store had done so knowing he would be found and cared for, thanks to the shelter’s reputation.
The rescue team agreed to take Frankie in, deciding against sending him to an overcrowded shelter where his chances of finding a home might be slim, especially with the high number of Pit Bulls waiting for adoption.
A happy ending
After a necessary visit to the vet, Frankie was welcomed into a loving foster home with Jamie’s daughter. It wasn’t long before the little pup charmed his way into his foster mom’s heart.
She decided to give him a fresh start and a new name—Percy—to mark the beginning of his new life. Overwhelmed with affection for the little puppy, she realized their bond was unbreakable and decided to adopt him.
Now in the comfort of his forever home, surrounded by a family who loves him deeply, Percy’s once-anxious eyes gleamed with happiness.
