Akiane Kramarik painted “Prince of Peace,” a famous depiction of Jesus, when she was only 8 years old. Despite growing up in a non-religious family, Akiane felt inspired by spiritual visions to create the painting. She appeared on the Oprah Show at age 9, explaining that her talent came from God.
Akiane’s mother said the family wasn’t religious, and Akiane had no outside influence, yet she spoke deeply about God and spirituality from a young age. The painting was inspired by a childhood dream and a carpenter who resembled Jesus and became her model.
“Prince of Peace” was stolen before an exhibition but later returned, though it was damaged and hidden away for years. Akiane sold it to a private collector after a long legal battle. The painting was eventually bought by a prestigious family for $850,000 in 2019, who now protect it as a masterpiece meant to inspire many.
After nearly 20 years, Akiane was reunited with the painting and described the moment as “amazing” and “surreal,” emphasizing the power of love. The painting is currently exhibited at the Belóved Gallery in Texas.
